These Terms of Use govern your access to Free Association, a browser-based writing studio operated at this website and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Free Association provides tools for drafting, organizing, and exporting written work, including optional AI-assisted features such as outlining, journal prompts, and proofreading suggestions. Features may change over time as the product evolves.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Paid access is offered on a subscription basis through Stripe. Trial terms, pricing, renewal, and cancellation details are shown at checkout and in your Stripe receipt. Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. Promo codes may be offered for limited redemptions and can be withdrawn at any time.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the writing you create in Free Association. You grant us the limited rights needed to store, process, back up, and display your content so the service can operate, including syncing documents to your account and generating exports you request.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. This includes attempting to break security, scrape or overload the platform, interfere with other users, upload unlawful content, or use the service to generate spam, malware, or content that violates applicable law.
6. AI features
AI-generated suggestions are provided for convenience only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing anything before relying on it, especially for publication, legal, medical, or financial decisions. AI features are not a substitute for professional advice.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Free Association reliable, but the service is provided on an as-available basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical. We may update these terms by posting a revised version on this page.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and cancel your subscription through Stripe. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if continued service becomes impractical for legal, security, or operational reasons.
9. Disclaimers
Free Association is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Association and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
