install guide

save the studio as a web app.

Free Association already lives in the browser. Installing it as a web app gives you a dedicated window without tabs, a dock or home-screen icon, and a faster path back to your documents. Your work still saves to the cloud.

Start on the studio URL

Sign in at /app.html before you install. That way the shortcut opens your documents, not the marketing home page.

Stay signed in

Your browser should remember your login. If it asks every time, allow cookies for this site and open the installed app once while signed in.

macOS

Safari and Chrome both support web apps on Mac. Safari feels most native on the Dock; Chrome adds the app to Applications.

  1. Safari: Add to Dock

Open the studio in Safari and sign in. Click Share in the toolbar, then choose Add to Dock. Confirm the name. The icon appears on your Dock and in Launchpad.

  2. Chrome: Install app

Open the studio in Chrome and sign in. Click the install icon in the address bar, or open the menu and choose Install Free Association…. Confirm to add it to Applications.

Menu labels change between browser versions. If you do not see an install option, update your browser, make sure you are on /app.html, and try again after a full page load. You can always return through any browser bookmark.
